"I connect better with people in person. I also need to fill myself with life and real, visceral inspiration. A place I’ve never been to before should give me that, right?” — Silvia Paizan
Great interview, thank you. It brought back memories of a holiday I took with my parents to Romania in 1994, five years after the revolution. We stayed for a night in Sibiu. Alas, all I can remember now is staying in a modern hotel (possibly the MyContinental?), some of the rooms of which were derelict, with broken windows and bullet holes in the walls... I rediscovered a very different Sibiu in my last job, reading through the manuscript travel writings of a British administrator who travelled overland from England to India in the 1820s: https://blogs.bl.uk/european/2018/05/an-eyewitness-account-of-life-in-the-early-19th-century-habsburg-empire.html
Thank you both for making me dream about places I’ve never been before and now I want to see 💛
thank you 🧡, Natasha
